PANO – General Phung Quang Thanh, Defence Minister cum Head of the Defence Ministry’s Reward and Emulation Council, chaired a conference on July 17^th to review activities in the first half of the year and work out the Council’s tasks for the rest of this year.

General Phung Quang Thanh highly appreciated achievements of the whole-army reward and emulation works and “Determination to Win” drive in the first six months of 2012. All units have fulfilled assigned tasks such as training combat readiness, protecting, rescuing and mitigating and overcoming aftermaths of natural disasters, increasing labor and business productivity, maintaining logistics and technology, and improving soldiers’ living standards.

General Thanh asked all the army units to give priority to those who are serving in rural and border areas and especially on islands. All distinguished individuals and units should be acknowledged and rewarded in time.
