PANO – The Phu Yen Province, on July 17th, officially opened an exercise on defensive area 2012, PT-12.

Present at the opening ceremony were Major-General Le Chiem, Commander of the Military Zone 5 cum Head of Military Zone 5's  defensive area drill, and other leaders from the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee, departments and organizations; and Phu Yen armed forces.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Dao Tan Loc, Phu Yen Party Committee Secretary and Head of Steering Committee of the PT-12, asked relevant units and participants to heighten their discipline consciousness and sense of responsibility, work jointly together and strictly implement all drill’s regulations to obtain the best results.

The drill is carried out between July 17th and 21st. During this period, the Phu Yen Province organizes exercises for trial purposes, “Building reserves in the new situation”, in Phu Hoa and Tay Hoa Districts and Regiment 108, Division 305.

The PT-12 aims to promote strength and staff ability of local army units, border guards, the police and departments for more effective and timely measures for local authorities to deal with unexpected issues in any circumstances and maintain social order. Besides, the drill will help the participating units improve their combat readiness to fulfill their assigned tasks in the time to come.
