Demark would continue to provide ODA for Vietnam up to 2015, Danish Speaker of the Parliament, Mogens Lykketoft, affirmed in a news conference held on March 7th in Hanoi during his official visit to Vietnam.
He also unveiled that Demark would provided some US$ 170 million of ODA for Vietnam in the period of 2012-2015 and that a majority of the assistance will be funded for green growth, effective use of energy and climate change projects, and the remainder will be offered to rural clean water supply and administrative reform projects.
For long, Denmark has been one of major ODA providers for Vietnam. Demark provides some US$ 50 million per year for Vietnam.
At the meeting with local press workers, he expressed his satisfaction with Vietnam’s effective use of ODA but added that, as Vietnam had become a middle-income nation the amount of non-refundable aid it could receive would reduce from 2015.
