State President Nguyen Minh Triet on April 11 extended his condolences over the death of Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his accompanying delegation in a plane crash in Russia.

In the condolence message sent to Parliament Speaker Bronislaw Komorowski, President Triet, on behalf of the Vietnamese state and people, expressed his deepest sorrow. He added that he hopes Polish leaders and people will get over the grief and stablise the country

A total of 97 people died in the crash of the TU-154 plane carrying the Polish President and his accompanying delegation in the Smolensk region in Russia on April 10.
