10 countries to join the first international balloon festival in Vietnam
PANO – 50 pilots and specialists on balloons from 10 countries and territories, including France, Germany, the UK, the US, India, China, Hong Kong and Thailand will participate in the first international balloon festival to be held in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province from August 29th to September 3rd.
About 30 giant balloons printed with their national flags with striking colors will fly at the same time, promising to create a wonderful space in Binh Thuan’s sky.
Especially, there will be several special balloons, such as balloons with images of yellow cats and yellow pigs from Vietnam, balloons with image of a glass of ice cream from the US or other balloons with images of yellow orange and pretty baby elephant from Europe.
As expected, from August to September in Binh Thuan, it is no rain with wind force at below 28 kilometers per hour, so balloons trends to fly from the east to the west. The height limit to fly is 500 meters but the best height to perform is about 100 to 200 meters. Balloons will fly over a 19 kilometers-long road.
In order to ensure security for entire festival, the organising panel invited several experienced international specialists for better consultation, including Mr. Khairudin Ab Rani, Director of Putrajaya international balloon festival in Malaysia for festival organization consultation, Mr. Wouter Cornelis Bakker, a Dutch pilot to assist flying technology with international standards and Dutch Cameron Ballooning flights for consultation on flying equipment.
Also during the festival, there will be many interesting air-displays of tourism-sports equipments, including hovering parachutes, plane models, traditional kite flying contest and special variety shows. A unique night festival with flower garlands and colored lanterns and dragon balloon parade will be a focal point of the festival.
Notably, blue dragon, a famous specialty of Binh Thuan Province is selected as symbol of the festival.
In addition, a photo contest, “Binh Thuan green space – outlook from balloons” will be held in the festival.
The first international balloon festival in Vietnam, a manifestation of friendship between Vietnam and other countries is expected to attract a large amount of domestic and foreign people.
