The 2012 National Karatedo Tournament for Strong Clubs officially opened at the Binh Thuan provincial gymnasium on June 22.

More than 530 martial artists aged between 12 and 21 from 45 clubs across the country are competing for 53 sets of medals in team and individual demonstration and combat events.

The tournament expects to see tense and dramatic contests among strong clubs such as Hanoi, HCM City, the Public Security and the Army, as well as some national martial artists who have won top prizes at international competitions.

Competitions will last through June 26.
