PANO – The EVN Corporation and Alstom Group, on May 18th, signed an agreement to establish the Alstom-Phu My Power Services Joint-Venture to build a modern gas turbine maintenance and overhaul plant at the Phu My Power Centre in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
It is the first gas turbine maintenance centre in Vietnam and also the first workshop of the Alstom Group in Asia which will be installed with advanced equipment to maintain and overhaul many kinds of steam turbines, meeting customers’ demands. Once operational, the plant will create jobs for more than 140 local workers.
The agreement provides a good opportunity for Vietnam to approach a new field and upgrade a Vietnamese skilful workforce in the future as well as shows long-lasting business cooperation between the EVN and Alstom. The two groups have been cooperating in some projects such as Son La and Huoi Quang Hydro-power and Phu My Thermo plants.
The Alstom Group is one of the world leaders in production of electricity and railway infrastructure, environmental-friendly technology and maintenance equipment.
