1,000 needy students receive Vinamilk scholarships

PANO – The Ministry of Education and Training, on August 4th, worked jointly with the Vietnam Milk Joint-Venture Company (Vinamilk) to offer the “Vinamilk-Growing Vietnamese youth talents” scholarships to needy students nationwide at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House.

Present at the awarding ceremony were Deputy-Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Nghia and Director-General of the Vinamilk Mai Kieu Lien.

The scholarship presentation is an annual activity launched by the Vinamilk since the school year 2003–2004 for primary schools´ needy and disadvantaged pupils with excellent studying results. 

At this ceremony, 20 students representing 1,000 awarded ones who have outstanding academic records in the 2011-2012 school year received 1,000 scholarships worth VND 1 billion. Up to this time, the Vinamilk granted its 33,000 scholarships worth VND 18 billion to needy students in 63 provinces and cities across the country.

In addition, the organization board presented its 9 first, 16 second and 25 third prizes (worth VND 5, 3 and 1 million, respectively) to 50 winners participating in the final round of the contest “Vinamilk–Finding Vietnamese talents”.
