PANO - A scientific seminar titled “Defence industrial consortium in foreign countries and hints for Vietnam” was recently held by the Military Strategic Institute.

The seminar, which was chaired by Deputy Director of the institute, Associate Professor, Doctor Major-General Pham Ngoc Trung, drew many military and civilian scientists and experts.

According to delegates, the development of a defence industrial consortium is an important objective and Vietnam has long learnt from the experiences of other nations in the building of its defence industry.

Today, the establishment of a defence industrial consortium is a practical request to meet both current and future requirements for both defence and economic development.

Speakers at the seminar focused their discussions on the shape, organisations and functions of the future Vietnamese defence industrial consortium.
