The Vietnam National Administration of Customs has asked the Department of Customs in border localities and the Anti -Smuggling Investigation Department to intensify their fight against smuggling and trade fraud during the New Year Festival (Tet).

Under the Administration of Customs’ requirements, the agencies must strengthen examination activities and have policies for the timely punishment of those caught smuggling and illegally transporting minerals, oil and gas, food, wooden products and medicine across the border.

As well, the units must also join hands with local patrol forces along borders and at border gates in order to prevent illegal activities.
